The Historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
The perfect fall day trip! A nine hour round-trip adventure with time for lunch, shopping and walking the old streets of Silverton.
The 45 miles of railway were originally laid in 1882 between the mining town of Silverton and Durango, Colorado and provide stunning vistas along the pristine Animas River. Dense forests of spruce and aspen line the railway as it tracks through the San Juan National Forest and wilderness inaccessible by roads.
